Ant-blue Butterfly

Small Ant-blue

(Acrodipsas myrmecophila)

This small Ant-blue butterfly is one of the best illustrations of an obligate symbiotic relationship between organisms in nature.

I often look at nature in wonder and amazement at its beauty and how so many obligate symbiotic relations exist. Meaning neither can survive without the other, and through integration and interaction, sometimes complex, both benefit.

I try to take this approach when developing any software application.  When integration and interaction is required it will be done as seamlessly as possible.

The Small Ant-blue caterpillar provides important nutrients to the ants and the ants protect the caterpillars, while in return the caterpillar lives inside the ant nest and feeds on the ant brood in a predatory relationship (New and Britton, 1997).
